Vanilla Glazed Baked Donuts

An irresistibly delicious recipe but without the frying! Quick to make, these donuts are perfect for a little treat.

Vanilla Glazed Baked Donuts

Ingredients

For the Donuts:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons soft butter
  • 1 egg
  • 100ml milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Glaze:
  • 80g powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 10ml milk (or more if the glaze is too thick)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles (optional)
  • 1 drop blue food colouring (optional)

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180oC.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the egg, milk, butter and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients until they’re well combined.
  5. Pipe about ¾ cup donut batter into each well of your donut pan.
  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the powdered sugar, butter, milk and vanilla. Add food colouring and stir.
  8. Spoon mixture over donuts, add sprinkles.
  9. Let glaze set at room temperature.
